The Flamingourd

The Flamingourd

I got to come home early this weekend, in time to go to karaoke Thursday night with Danie, and surprise our small group by showing up mid-week.  Then I actually got to sleep in Friday morning, and we went to lunch and the mall, and Danie went off to compete in the Doctor Idol contest at Michael’s on East in Sarasota.  Her group won, of course, and then we watched 1408 that night.  This is, quite possibly, the single creepiest film I’ve ever watched.

Saturday I got to sleep in again, but not as much, and I went with Danie to the Pumpkin Festival out at Hunsader Farms (just like last year).  We walked around, petted the animals, met up with her friend Emily.  I scored a pretty sweet flamingo-shaped gourd at the produce stand, so I propped it up on a couple of wooden dowels, lit it, shot it, and dubbed it “The Flamingourd.”

This morning I went to church like usual, and we had a couple of great services.  I ran handheld camera first service, and one on a tripod second, and the other camera guy and I ended up meshing pretty well both services.  After that I went and had lunch, then went to see my grandma for her birthday.  Then I met up with Danie and we went to Wal Mart, then came home and photographed the Flamingourd.  After that we went to Tequila Beach for dinner, and now it’s time to go watch another scary movie.  Gotta love October.
