Back Home!

John switching video at church

I’ve been back in Bradenton for a half a week now, and it’s been great to be back.  The jet lag was pretty annoying at first, but I’m finally getting used to my usual home schedule again (albeit with slightly earlier mornings) and getting back to the usual home life.  Today I got back to church, and took a couple shots of the video switching setup with some quick lighting.

I got to run video handheld today, as well, since we had an extra camera in for baptisms that didn’t end up happening (apparently someone slipped and fell first service).  It’s always fun to do video handheld, and I’m pretty sure I got some good shots.  Afterwards I went out to Longwood Park in Sarasota with my girlfriend: that place is awesome.  They have all sorts of nifty spinning playground equipment, along with all the standards.

Then we caught Ghosts of Girlfriends Past at the Parkway 8 (which turned out to be a pretty good movie), and went to try out Mi Pueblo Mexican restaurant.  They had an organic/vegan menu…and it turned out pretty…interestingly.  I had a bean burrito on sprouted wheat tortilla, with “refried beans” that were actually ground up sunflower seeds, mixed in with lettuce and raw veggies.  And, well, I managed to get through about half of it.  And now, in an epic testament to the sophistication of my taste, I’m going to go get myself some Taco Bell.
