The Canadia Blog started with a trip to Canada (hence the name) last year, and now it’s time for another. Once again, the Canadia blog gets to live up to its name. I left today with my grandparents, and this time I’m driving up to Newfoundland. We drove up to South Carolina today, with New York coming tomorrow. Unfortunately, there’s not much to talk about now, other than a long day full of driving. On the bright side, I found a DC inverter to run my laptop off the vehicle’s power, so I was able to get an awful lot of work done on my new project, FlexGallery.
FlexGallery is going to be an image gallery web application, written in PHP with MySQL. It’s a project in two parts, an object-oriented backend that does all the heavy lifting, and a front-end that will be fully configurable. With the two separated, it should be easy to eschew the included front-end altogether, and integrate the back-end into one’s own projects, as well. My plan is for it to be fairly simple to make the system work for anything from a non-interactive photographer’s portfolio to a full-blown community image board. And with an awful lot of driving left to do, I’ll hopefully be able to make some serious progress over the next couple of weeks.
